A city problem, solved with a regional solution.

A building in the middle of the city has an issue — a fire alarm fault, lights out, a blocked sink. It's a drama, and it needs attention fast. Your contractor sends an engineer; they're coming from Sheffield, or Manchester, or worse. They're fine — the contract SLA, if you have one, is four hours. But what about you? Why wouldn't you want better service?

The SLA (service level agreement) sets out how a service — in this case, reactive maintenance response time — should be delivered. But it's a symptom of the wrong delivery structure, not a reasonable standard for a building in a city centre.

From the founder

The journey that led to Citeco started back in 1982 — born into our family electrical-contracting firm, G Hargreaves & Sons, and working my summer holidays on site: bending conduit, building light fittings and making the tea.

That journey went from family contractors to working across the country with some of the biggest names in contracting, facilities engineering and construction. Over the years I've expanded my knowledge to include fire, life safety and security systems — all the time watching cities grow into what we see today, and constantly wondering if there wasn't a better option for building owners and operators, property managers and the environment.

Citeco is the result of forty years' exposure to the industry, and I'm really excited to start this next chapter in my home town. Citeco can deliver its services faster and cleaner than any other business I know. The future is here — let's talk.
